Complete your launch checklist before removing storefront password protection.
Find access settings
Open Online Store → Preferences → Password protection. Review whether Enable password is on.
- The storefront password is separate from your admin account password.
Set the visitor experience
For a private store, set the storefront password and message to visitors, then Save.
- Share access only with reviewers who need it.
Use preview links carefully
In Store links, copy the store URL or private preview link as appropriate. A preview link can bypass password protection.
- Do not publish a private preview link in public documentation.
Open the store
When ready, turn off password protection and Save. Visit the public URL in a private browser window without an admin session.
- Review search indexing separately under SEO & AI.

Why can I see the store while visitors cannot?
Your browser may have a valid preview link or storefront access. Test the ordinary store URL in a new private window.
Why is a control missing or unavailable?
Confirm that you are in the correct store and that your role allows this action. Optional apps and channels may require installation, a plan, or activation. Share the screen name and error with support if access is still unclear.
