Getting started

Your online store launch checklist

A practical path from a blank store to a first order you can fulfill confidently.

1. Start with the essentials

Write down what you sell, who you sell to, and where you can deliver. Choose a store name and create your Lulu account. You can create a store without a payment card; confirm your commercial package before activating paid services.

2. Build a useful catalog

For each product, add a clear title, accurate description, price, useful images, and the variants customers need. Record stock, weight, and SKU information where relevant. Group products into collections that make browsing easy.

3. Make the store recognizable

Choose a theme and add your logo, colors, and photography. Check the navigation, footer, contact details, and product pages. Preview on a phone as well as a laptop; do not assume a desktop layout tells the whole story.

4. Connect the operational details

Set up your approved payment provider, delivery zones, shipping rates, and applicable tax settings. Add clear shipping, returns, and privacy information for your customers. Provider processing, domain registration, and optional apps may cost extra.

5. Test the whole journey

Browse a collection, choose a variant, add it to the cart, apply an eligible discount, and place a test order. Check the order total, email notification, admin record, fulfillment, and refund workflow supported by your provider.

6. Launch, listen, improve

Connect your domain and verify that it resolves correctly. Share the store with a small audience first. Review questions and failed checkouts, then improve the details before increasing your marketing spend.

Explore the Lulu platform, compare packages, or ask the team about your setup.
